Karabatic, Andersson and Zeitz start trainings after their long injuries.
Kiel's reinforcement
Good news are coming from the “handball hospital”, THW Kiel: Nikola Karabatic plans to return on court next week. Four weeks after his severe shoulder injury that he suffered at a CL match in Montpellier, the Frenchman started trainings. He is training on his own, throwing and running.
“I hope I can join the team next week,” Karabatic said. He should have participated the training session on Monday with the team, but he had to stay in France because of the strike of Air France. Kiel’s team doctor, Detlev Brandecker hopes that Karabatic would play in the next 10 to 14 days.
Kim Andersson is also about to return. The Swedish player had an ankle injury against Hammarby.
“I hope I can start running this week,” he said. He completed the first phase of rehabilitations at home in Sweden. Andersson hopes to be fit in the next two weeks.
Christian Zeitz also has some good news. The right back will not need to be operated again after his hip problems. He can start “normal” trainings this week.
“The date of his first match depends on the pain that could occur at the trainings. If there’s no more pain, he can play again very quickly,” says Brandecker for Kieler Nachrichten.
The Czech Filip Jicha was operated five weeks ago. “We will check him at the beginning of November again,” says Brandecker. However it seems that Jicha has to miss four months.
