After a brilliant Bosna start Szeged took control to win their second match of the season.
Right Attitude brings home points
In the second round of Group H, two sides with three points met. Pick Szeged hosted Bosna Sarajevo on the Tisza-side. The ambitious guests could only keep pace with Szeged in the first half.
The match started with strict defending from both teams and missed chances of the hosts. Though Puljezevic continued to play on the same level he did against Velenje in the last round, the guests – with the leadership of Toromanovic – were equal against Szeged aggressive in defence. As the home team were continuously one man down, the guests took a 3-5 lead by the 12th minute.
Convincing hosts
Szeged reacted and with the goals of the new left winger Zvizej and Krivokapic playing in good form they took a four-goal lead by the 20th minute. The Bosnians played with enthusiasm, but Szeged had a 15-10 lead at halftime.
The teams started the second half with high-speed handball and the defences worked with less efficiency. The supporters have seen 25 goals within 15 minutes.
Stamate was given a red card for a brutal foul against Anisimov, but this was no problem for the home team. Sarajevo got tired and in the last minutes of the game the second string was sent on court on both sides. The Szeged reserves played better and showed spectacular handball to end the game with a 15-goal victory.
Szeged made another step towards the coveted first place in the group, while Sarajevo still have to wait for their first away victory.
