Shock defeat of CL Winner

After opening the Danish league with a narrow 21-20 home win over KIF Vejen on Sunday, Champions League winner Slagelse DT ran into a shocking defeat on Tuesday. The team of Anja Andersen played their second league game, an away match against GOG Svendborg TGI. The hosts lost their first match of the season 28-18 away against Randers HK by 17-16.

Rotis-Nagy (with the ball) will join the team after her injurySlagelse lost in the Danish league after 23 months and 28 matches. During this period, the Danish side won the Danish Championship. In addition, the 16 goals scored were the lowest score for Slagelse at a domestic match for many years.

Still without Rotis

Slagelse were still without their new Austrian star, Gabriela Rotis-Nagy, who will be sidelined with an injury for a few more weeks. However, that is not enough to explain the fact that Slagelse were only able to score 16 goals.

Instead, a young GOG player, 19 year old Nicoline Nielsen was the key player scoring 10 out of her team’s 17 goals – the last one was the winning goal just a few seconds before the end of the match.

One of Slagelse’s best players was once again goalkeeper Cecilie Leganger, who kept the home team’s score down to 17 goals. However, the former Norwegian international was far from being happy after the match.

Leganger did her best, but she was not in the happiest mood after the match“This was definitely not good enough, and we can absolutely not be satisfied with ourselves after this performance,” said Leganger after the sensational defeat in front of 1770 spectators in Arena Fyn in Odense. Maja Savic was Slagelse’s top scorer with 5 goals.
