CL Winner turns Slagelse down

Ann Grete Nørgaard, 24-year old Danish national player of Randers HK, has confirmed to have turned down Champions League winner Slagelse DT’s offer. In stead, the left winger decided to extend her contract with Randers for three more years, valid until the summer of 2010.

“Slagelse director, Bjarne Stenbæk, called me once and told me about the interest of Slagelse. Of course I was flattered for the approach of maybe the strongest club in the world, but extending my contract with Randers seemed more natural to me,” Ann Grete Nørgaard told a local newspaper, Randers Amtsavis.

Happiness in Randers

On the top of her career: Norgaard celebrates the CL title“Ann Grete has developed her talent a lot during her time with us, and we expect her to be able to develop her game even further. Therefore, we are happy that she chose to extend her contract with us,” said Randers coach Martin Albertsen in an official comment on Nørgaard´s decision.

Ann Grete Nørgaard joined Randers from Viborg HK in the summer of 2006. She played for Skive fH before and she also has four caps for Denmark. She won Champions League with Viborg in May 2006.
