First trophy for Mar Valencia

After great performances in preparation matches, Mar Valencia took their first title this season. In the final of the Spanish League ABF Cup they won over Cementos La Union Ribarroja 28:25 (16:12).

On the first day of ABF Cup tournament, Mar Valencia defeated Elda in semi-final match with big margin, 33:25. The superb defence from the Valencia-based team (also known as Sagunto) was decisive. In next day’s final they defeated the Spanish champions, Cementos La Union Ribarroja by 28:25 (16:12). Mar Valencia controlled the entire game and deservedly took the title at the end.

The best player of the tournament was Patricia Alonso (Cementos La Union Ribarroja) and the best goalkeeper was Eli Lopez (BM Sagunto).

Busy season ahead

After two long years without a title, the team of Cristina Mayo is hungered for trophies. This season they already won the Spanish League ABF Cup, but they will also fight for the Spanish Championship title, Spanish Cup and they hope that also for the CL title. 

Mar Valencia will play 2nd round of CL qualifications in Group 4 with Lada Togliatti, Lublin and one more team from first round. Judging from the performance they showed in the ABF Cup,  Mar Valencia are back on winning track and their fans can surely look forward to an exciting season in the Spanish Championship as well as in the European competitions.
