Ciudad Real Begins

Ales Pajovic and Didier Dinart are injured. They must wait to work with the others, but Ciudad Real are already on the job after the holidays. Talant Dujshebaev returns to serve on the coaching staff. At the end of last season Dujshebaev took the team’s jersey back to replace Uros Zorman.

The core of the team remains together - Rutenka will also play for Ciudad next seasonChema Rodriguez and Mirza Dzomba were the protagonists of the first workday – however, for different reasons. The Spanish playmaker signs with Ciudad Real that bought the player from Valladolid. The Croatian, on the other hand, said goodbye and will play in Zagreb next season.

Dujshebaev keeps the team

After some seasons with so many new signings, Ciudad Real begins the new year keeping almost the same team. Five new faces can be seen: Danish pivot Torsten Laen, Danish Christian Hjermind, Spanish Viran Morros, Roberto Garcia Parrondo and Chema Rodriguez, one of the most expensive transfers in the Spanish League (allegedly 800.000 Euros).

After a difficult year for Uros Zorman, the Slovenian is coming back from his injury and he will try to forget his last season.

Dzomba continues in Zagreb, Fis and Belaustegi in Logroño (they have contract with Ciudad Real). There are no more changes. Dujshebaev keeps the group that won last Asobal League. Sterbik, Hombrados, Stefansson, Uríos, Entrerrios or Rutenka will be among the greatest stars of Asobal League and Champions League.

Chema Rodrigez might prove to be a great reinforcement for the teamFrom Granada to Athens

The trainings started in Ciudad Real, but Dujshebaev will take his team on tour. Granada will be once again the venue for the toughest training sessions: they must do very good physical work to keep fit the whole long season.

Ciudad Real will take part in many club competitions, but the players will also play the European Championship, Olympic preparations and the Olympic Games at the end of the season. 2008 promises a really hard year for all...

Before these important events, Ciudad Real will play friendly matches. Friendly, however, does not mean easy. Zagreb, Chambery or Kolding will be among the opponents that the Djusebaiev team will face.
