Ciudad Real and Flensburg will meet in Group G. Torsten Laen, new pivot of the Spanish champion, talks to Eurohandball.com.
Laen Waiting for Flensburg
Torsten Laen is happy to meet SG Flensburg Handewitt in the Champions League. The experienced pivot joined Spanish champions, BM Ciudad Real, recently from Danish champion, GOG Svendborg TGI. His new club was drawn into Group G with Flensburg, Zaglebie Lubin and the winner of the qualification tie between SPE Strovolos and Drammen HK.
“Flensburg are, of course, an extremely strong team, while we should be able to beat the other teams in that group. The matches against those teams will probably be perfect opportunities to get adjusted to my new team's style," Torsten Laen told Eurohandball.com.
Flensburg matches will decided first place
“There is no doubt that Flensburg Ciudad Real should be the two teams to go on to the second group stage. Of course, winning the group is also important in order to get some easier opponents in the second group phase. Therefore, I expect two tough matches against Flensburg. I also expect it to be great fun to play against Flensburg as there are other Danes in Flensburg and some of my former team mates from GOG,” Torsten Laen added.
