The Montenegrin winger of Slagelse picked up an injury in the second half. It is still unsure whether she can play the second leg.
Doubts about Savic
Slagelse DT may be handicapped on Sunday in the return game of the CL final against Lada Togliatti. While Romanian back court player, Carmen Lungu, will be at coach Anja Andersen’s disposal again, there is uncertainty about the Montenegrin left winger, Maja Savic.
Savic, who has just celebrated her 31st birthday, had to leave the court at the middle of the second half in Russia. She was apparently in great pain because of a calf injury and she could not continue.
Scanning necessary
"It is still too early to say for sure what is wrong or whether Maja can play on Sunday. We will have to get her scanned thoroughly when we return to Denmark. Only then can we say anything for certain," Slagelse´s assistant coach Peter Bruun Jørgensen told Eurohandball.com.
Maja Savic has been one of Slagelse’s most outstanding profiles since joining the club from Budocost Monet in Montenegro in 2004 summer. If the elegant left winger, who played several other positions as well in Slagelse, would be a serious loss for the Danish champions.
