Injured Lungu Returns for Semis

The only Danish representative in the Champions League semi-finals, Slagelse, expect their Romanian backcourt player Carmen Amirei Lungu to recover from her ankle injury soon. The player should be able to play the semi-finals against Győri Audi ETO in the weekend of 14-15 April.

Carmen Lungu suffered an ankle injury in the second leg of the quarterfinals against Krim Ljubljana on Saturday. The accident happened in mid second half, and Lungu had to leave the court immediately. Since then, a thorough medical examinations have shown that the injury will probably not stop her for a long time. The experienced backcourt player can play both semi-final matches.

Sidelined for the Danish semi-finals

Lungu will be there against Győr"The examinations of Carmen’s ankle have shown a sprain of the ankle, and we do not expect her to be fit the first Danish play-off semi final against Ikast/Bording on Saturday. However, we are convinced that she will be fit for the Champions League semi-finals," Slagelse´s assistant coach Peter Bruun Jørgensen told Eurohandball.com.

"And it will really mean a lot for us to have Carmen for the matches against Győr. She has improved a lot during this Champions League campaign, where she has really become an important player for us. There is no doubt that she will be an important player for us in the Champions League semi-finals," Peter Bruun Jørgensen added.
