While the three Danish teams are still standing in the Champions League, they have play-offs to play in their domestic leagues.
CL Teams Ready for Danish Play-offs
Between the first and second leg of the quarterfinals, the three Danish Champions League teams played their last matches in the first phase of the Danish League. All three are preparing for the play-offs in the Danish championship.
The play-offs are played by the four best teams and the three Champions League participants took the first three positions. Slagelse won the league without losing a single point; Danish and CL title holder Viborg HK are second and Aalborg DH are third.
Ikast/Bording – currently interested in the EHF Cup quarterfinals against Hungarian Debrecen – clinched the last place in the play-offs.
Best out of three
The play-off have a peculiar playing system. The goal difference has no importance after two matches. If both teams win one game or both matches end in a draw, a third match is played.
Slagelse will host Ikast/Bording in the semi-finals (31 March/1 April), while Viborg face Aalborg.
The return matches are scheduled for Good Friday (6 April), while the eventual third matches will be played on Easter Monday (9 April).
The finals are scheduled for 28 April and 3 May, while 8 May is reserved for a third match.
